THE STORY OF EVERYDAY

The morning dawns and the clock strikes again,
To begin a trail that maddens the sane

The typical bus and the familiar train,
Begins the monotony that ceases to wane

The targets are high and ambitious,
The concerns immense and conspicuous

Another meal skipped scrambling by the desk,
‘Won’t join you guys for lunch’ came the reluctant text

Three cups of coffee were the saving grace,
To brush off the fatigue of his weary face

That evening again, he missed the shuttle,
Reached his home after braving the bustle

The kids were fed and fast asleep,
His wife kept waiting in her thoughts so deep

The reckless struggle would just not relent,
Deep in his sleep, he chose to lament

What is this life, so full of care!
There is no time to stop and stare!

There is so much to see and to explore
At the end of day, there is always more,
But who has the time to relax and adore,
The beauty of life and its surprises in store!

Neat musings you have ... I thought you were describing my life until you mentioned the wife.... :)

Yes, daily monotony can take the driver's seat before you can even realize ...

I remember these lines,

"The moment's gone now it's too late
Fame and fortune come with a heavy price
Son, don't miss your life
."
