Lessons from Life!

Introspection gives you a lot of answers…says who???
Says my mom! There are too many things she keeps saying…a few of them worth sharing with everyone…
Most of the things mom says make me feel that the concepts of one world, one religion and service to humanity aren’t theoretical. It’s just that at times, we don’t take efforts to unleash the true human in each of us…come on! Bring him on!

So mom says…

There is but a small difference between a good human and a not-bad human,
Indifference isn’t a golden virtue…
I don’t do any bad, but I don’t make sure that I do some good...is a way to brush off a human responsibility.
Make an effort to be good.
Though one must be selfless while serving, you can keep in mind that goodness is always rewarded.

People don’t have a reason to be bad;
Every core can be pure and gentle;
Eccentricity is a case of an extreme mannerism,
Don’t deal with eccentrics,
Learn to handle them with care…
When people hurt you,
Remember that they are more hurt, else they wouldn’t have hurt you.
Sympathy isn’t the best consolation.
Empathise to understand the deepest of anguish and the brightest of joys.

Some things are just not meant to happen,
Or some things just don’t have an answer is NOT really true.
Every event in your life has a purpose and an outcome.
Try to find the reason,
If that reason teaches you something; learn it;
If it disturbs you; ignore it,
If it makes you happy; cherish it!

Efforts are not always rewarded;
But that doesn’t mean life is unfair.
Destiny is overpowering at times.
That also doesn’t mean you stop taking efforts.
It is important to go with the flow;
Because there are times in your lives when you don’t really realize what is indeed the “best” for you.
This again doesn’t mean you sit back and keep anticipating,
Trust me when I say that there is no substitute for hard work, sincerity and persistence.

At times it is interesting to challenge your GOD; especially when HIS treatment to you seems compromising.
But do so only if you have been a sincere devotee and a sincere person.
You won’t become one by going to the temple every day,
Just be good to a fellow person and keep your faith intact, even when it tests you the most.
Test your GOD; test your faith equally well when He tries to test you,
As a sincere devotee, it is your fair right to do so.

Remember words speak louder than actions and hurt more than a physical blow.
Use the right set of words always.
Praise well and applaud honestly, but don’t forget to express disapproval when the need be.
It is very much possible to be pleasing, soft as well as an objective and an articulate person; all at the same time.

You are too young to be judgmental about life.
Trust me, nothing is permanent.
Every day is a fresh day,
Welcome it with a sense of gratitude.
Expect a ‘daily surprise’ in store,
And if you still get none,
DON’T bury the hope!

Life is full of beautiful people,
Keep adding them to your life.
Try to find out what makes these humans beautiful, learn from their beauty.
Also, share these lessons with others.

Crib less, hate none.
Life is too short to give space and scope for these emotions.
Forgiveness is the most powerful balm which heals all sores.
Get the crap off your chest and feel the blissful lightness that swells within.

There are just too many people,
Who care about you and want to see you happy.
Don’t ever forget to give them their due.
So keep smiling and take care 

Live, love, care and share.
There is nothing in life, so particularly unfair!
Nobody did say that life would be easy,
They just promised it would be worth it!

Hello! So The Resilient Fighter is back to blogging and how!!
After reading the entire article, one definitely becomes introspective. I read the article only once but it has made an impact on my mind that will stay forever!
Not that the article presented anything absolutely new, but the way every statemenct is put very simply and matter-of-factly, I could easily relate each and every line to events in my life. And I will try to teach myself these lessons as I face different situations.
In fact, I would say, the person who must read this article thoroughly and have full faith in whatever is written is the author herself!!

As the sms forward says, ""Everything is well that ends well...and if it is not well, then it is not the end but a beginning to another great adventure!!"

For now, I will just quote the lyrics of the song 'I believe I can fly'

"I Believe I Can Fly"

I used to think that I could not go on
And life was nothing but an awful song
But now I know the meaning of true love
I'm leaning on the everlasting arms

If I can see it, then I can do it
If I just believe it, there's nothing to it

I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar
I see me running through that open door

I believe I can fly!!!

That was a very well written post! Lessons to last a life-time in few words! Brilliant.

What particularly stood out was the thought.... "Words speak louder than Actions!"......We all have been taught the opposite way... But sadly we tend to attach too much significance to words which can be true or a farce!

I would suggest Actions backed by the right words is the motto for the day!

Keep smiling.

And I also remembered these lines from a poem by Robert Frost,

Forgive, O Lord, my little jokes on Thee,
And I'll forgive Thy great big one on me.

Hahaha....

Reading this on a bad day, when you are feeling completely down and out, would make me feel..Oh come on...Not another sermon on living life !!

Reading this when you are happy and cheerful would make you happier and more cheerful

So read it on a day when you have no emotion over-riding your mind..Because happiness and sadness are both states of the mind. Introspection requires us to be calm and composed.

Well, the second para is written for me...My question to the author is..If somebody throws shit at you...and keeps doing so..again and again..Im not asking you to throw shit back at him..Why should you tolerate all that shit?? Well, if somebody is throwing shit at you, it most certainly means that he has no concern whatsoever of your feelings. What about self esteem ?
im talking about self-esteem and not EGO.

People dont have a reason to be bad??? are you kidding me..Some do it out of enjoyment..Some think that bad is the new Good..Some have absolutely warped interfaces which have eaten into their cores.

I totally agree with everything else that is written. Nice piece of work !!!!

@siddhi: thanks for that 'suggested time of reading'!
w.r.t the second para, i'l remind you that's what my Mom says..i do follow it to a great extent though..well, she has been really nice to people who have been not so good to her..and I mean brutally bad here...she dint let her self esteem down at any point of time in her life, she was very articulate while teaching a verbal lesson to such people...she dint really hurt them too, just made them realise a few good things they had conveniently overlooked...and today they all know her worth and also know how to treat her well...
so, finally i still buy her argument!

quintessential Priya! the post could be published as 'LIFE for dummies'....ideally, every human being ought to follow these points but we humans have ceased being humans...long back...and it is a tough job to get back everyone on the 'right path'...Miss Agony Aunt, tu kharach counselling chalu kar!
